The pandemic has shown us how vital the Experience Economy is to everyone’s wellbeing. Looking at the news today people’s faces are testament to this.
Are you ready? I heard a quote recently from the Founder & CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group (Danny Meyer) and it resonated with me – particularly as I now live near Belfast with its proud boat building heritage.
“Never again in our careers will we be able to take the boat out of the water and put it in dry dock for a year to inspect every inch of its underbelly and make it seaworthy again. We want to make sure when we put the boat back in it is sounder and does business in a better way”
Sadly, not all businesses have survived the events of the past year, and the commercial realities – certainly for SMEs – have been challenging to say the least. I have been fortunate enough to help businesses over the past year, offering strategic guidance, and practical help in rebuilding their business ready for the reawakening of the service/visitor/experience economy in the new world we now find ourselves in.
I was fortunate enough to present the ‘Getting ready to Reopen – Attractions’ webinar support as part of the Tourism Northern Ireland Webinar series where I speak about the steps Attractions and other Service Businesses should take to “put the boat back in the water” and making sure everyone grasps every possible opportunity now presented to us as our Experience Economy reawakens.
Please do look the whole series available below – sound advice for all aspects of our visitor and experience economy – wherever you are.
No prizes for spotting the inevitable ‘Dog Going Supernova’ ‘Don’t you just love working from home?’ webinar moment – I am sure my window cleaners were lying in wait..!
